The fall menu is back…

The air is getting crisp, the leaves are changing, and CVS has turned half its store into a tacky Halloween display.  This can only mean one thing: autumn has arrived!  And just as the seasons must change, so must our menu.

Starting tonight, we’re super excited to be serving our delicious fall menu: pumpkin spice lattes, spiced apple cider, pumpkin steamers, caramel apple cider, and pumpkin chai.  They’re too delicious for words, so you’re just going to have to try them.

So grab your scarves and meet us in the Café.  See you soon!

A very happy birthday

28 Sep hats and noisemakers

On the night of September 25, 2011, a line snaked through the Cabot tunnels in anticipation of a new coffee shop, a new social space, and a new late-night destination for all students in the Quad.  Exactly one year later, a similar line formed through the Cabot basement, but this one was to celebrate.

That’s because last Tuesday night, we celebrated our first birthday.  Hundreds of students from across campus stopped by to grab a slice of free cake and congratulate us on our first year.  The sheet cake may have vanished after just an hour, but it definitely looks like the balloons, streamers, and party hats kept you all entertained for the rest of the night!

It was so exciting for us to see just as many new faces as old regulars, mingling with each other, playing with our board games, and sampling our discounted menu.  Thank you so much for coming and for making the last year such a special one, and we can’t wait to see you around the Café.

Here’s to a year that’s even more delicious, fun, and successful than the last!

Party like it’s our birthday

Hey, so we’ll be seeing you this Tuesday, right? Everyone is going to be there.

…What? You haven’t heard?! Okay, let us fill you in.

Cabot Café is turning one year old this week and we’re throwing a party to celebrate. Balloons, streamers, swag. So come help us celebrate a year of success in the Café from 9pm to 1am on Tuesday, September 25th.

We’ll be giving away goodie bags to the first 30 customers, handing out free birthday cake, and offering a $1 discount on every menu item.

A Haiku

White walls are no fun,

Last year’s art turns dorm to home.

Tonight: Art Sale. Come!

 

Okay, not our greatest literary achievement, but we hope it gets the point across.  Tonight at the Café, 7pm -9pm. We’ll be selling the art we displayed all last year. It’s big, it’s colorful, and it’s one-of-a-kind. You won’t want to miss it.

Something’s different.  There’s an all-too-familiar air of optimism and excitement seeping through campus, and crimson lanyards are apparently back in style.  The only explanation?  The next freshman class has arrived!

Sure enough, the class of 2016 is all pre-oriented and moved in, set out to have as much fun as possible before classes start.  Last night, we worked with Crimson Key Society to host an Opening Days event for the freshmen!  Hundreds of freshmen came by to play board games and try one of our flavored lemonades.  It was great to see so many new faces in the Café, and we hope to see them all around soon!  Check out some photos from the event below:

Closing Time

It’s been a hell of a year! It seems like just yesterday when we opened our doors for the first time, and now we’re closed for the year. We’ve had a great time bringing you all through two rounds of reading periods and endless rounds of midterms. We hope you’ve enjoyed the free drinks, thesis discounts, and events, and we can’t wait to bring you more next year! Our last night was definitely bittersweet, and we enjoyed seeing so many of you! 

So here’s to an awesome year and an even better one next time around. Enjoy your summer, and try not to miss us too much!

To our dear freshmen:

We loved getting to meet so many of you at the Freshman Mixer this last Wednesday! Over a hundred of you came out for free drinks, funded by the UC and HUECU. It was so much fun to be able to share with you what is (obviously) one of the very best things about the Quad.

We loved the passing comments of those of you who had never before been to Cabot Café, things like “This is so much better than Starbucks!” and “I love this song. And the last song. And the one before that!” We even overheard a couple of future Matherites promising frequent cafe visits to their fortunate, Quadded friends. We loved seeing your excitement (and as our General Manager, Jesse, is so clearly demonstrating, who wouldn’t be excited about free drinks?).

We certainly hope to see all of your faces here at Cabot Café throughout this Reading Period and even more next year! Come visit us soon! What better way to spend the rest of your BoardPlus now that classes are over?

Reading Period Hours

Classes are over, the sun is shining, and finals are far enough away that we can still pretend they don’t exist.  We’re taking tonight off, as we all gear up for a Reading Period of boundless stress and inevitable procrastination.

But, don’t say goodbye yet: we’ll be back tomorrow and open every night for the rest of Reading Period.

Saturday 4/28 through Thursday 5/3
9pm – 1am

We’ll be there as you plow through your papers and projects, making sure that the rest of your BoardPlus goes to good use!

Freshman Mixer

As the semester is finally drawing to a close, Cabot Café will be celebrating the last day of classes!

This Wednesday, the UC and HUECU will be co-sponsoring a freshman mixer in Cabot Café. We’ll be giving away free drinks to all freshmen and half-off all other orders all night long! It will be the perfect chance to meet future Quadlings and to get to know the hottest new space on campus, if you haven’t already.

Check out the Facebook event here, check the shuttle schedule if need be, and have your Harvard ID at the ready! We’re looking forward to seeing you all here at Cabot Café!
